Essential Functions

  • Manages the UHCMC Child Protection program in conjunction with the Medical Director for Child Protection and the Child Protection Nurse Practitioner.
  • Provides education and consultation on child protection issues to multiple disciplines within the hospital setting and in the community. Serves as the expert resource to provide direct supervision of social workers working with cases of child abuse and neglect.
  • Provides administrative support to Department Supervisor including assisting with coverage in absence of Supervisor, assists with policy and standard development and supporting projects.
  • Works as a backup for the Social Worker who manages continuing education activities (liaison to the State of Ohio social work licensing board enabling UHCMC to maintain status as a provider of social work CEUs), as well as coordinates the social work graduate internships for UHHS.

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
